Objectives

Linmei Residential College was founded in the 107th academic year. At the beginning, following the life education philosophy of "paying equal attention to understanding and practice", it aimed to nurture modern San Hao (Three Acts of Goodness) young people to possess life competencies and care for society. It also intended to implement co-learning and co-governance involving teachers and students, plan activities in conformity with students’ interests and benefits, and build team spirit in the residential college.

In the 110th academic year, as part of the university’s transformation of residential colleges, it took “uprightness”, the second element of the university’s motto “Righteousness, Uprightness, Virtue, and Compassion”, as the main axis meaning "walk the right path and do the right thing in the right way." It is hoped that students are guided by a variety of themed activities to think and explore what the right way is for individuals to gain a foothold in society. At the same time, through exposure to and experiencing various skills, artistry, arts, etc., students can cultivate their sense of aesthetic life and they are provided with opportunities to reflect on their lives, explore self-practice, and elevate their self-worth so that they not only can build their life foundation striking a balance between walking in the path of righteousness and living a quality life but also are able to refinie themselves in residential college life to become people of integrity.
